This is an unfortunate situation that I have also run into at times by what I perceive are unethical realtors who are not acting in the best interest of their clients. I do believe that this may also be a violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act regarding real estate. Unfortunately, it happens more than it should, and unless you can get this in writing or in a recorded conversation, it is hard to prove. We need to police our own industry and put integrity back into the forefront. Should you ever receive information that an agent will not show a house because of the commission you have offered, in an email for example, I would take it to my broker. Please see this link I found regarding the anti-trust act.
